Emiliа Emilova is Bulgarian artist born in Vidin. Graduated with bachelor’s degree (2017) and a Master’s degree (2019) from the National Academy of Art in the Graphic Art specialty. She is currently employed at the “Vuzrazhdane” theatre as hostess and assistant director for guest performances.
In printmaking she is interested mainly in Etching techniques and has recently began to experiment with relief printing. For her the artistic concept and the titles of the art works are the main focus and the image serves to emphasize them. A major part in her graphics is played by the joke or the humor found in serious themes.
Despite her early career, Emilia already has several significant exhibitions and awards behind her, including exhibitions and awards KOMASK European Masters Printmaking exhibition 2019, Antwerp Belgium; „TRANSFORM“ project exhibition 2019, Ljubljana, Slovenia; Annual Printmaking Workshop „Sofija“ 2018, Bogdanci, Macedonia; The 5th Forum of Small Graphic Forms 2017, Sofia, Bulgaria; Awarded Honorary Diploma; First National Competition for Classical Graphic techniques at „Sredets“ Gallery,2017, Sofia, Bulgaria; Encouragement Award from SGEBank for best project in the General exhibition of the graduated bachelors from NAA, 2017.
