Nikola Kamenov – Hero is a multidisciplinary artist who has chosen the life of an artistic nomad, despite his Bulgarian roots. From an early age, Hero travels with his family around the world, remaining partly integrated into Western culture.
Today, Hero finds inspiration on the shores of South Africa, devoting all his creative attention to exploring local culture and traditions. He enrolled to study ArtScience at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, but quickly realized that the walls of academic life were pressing on him and he remained free from the status quo in his artistic pursuits.
He defines himself as a researcher, to a greater extent than as an artist, and believes that art manifests itself at every moment. That is why he chooses to work as an oceanographer.
Over the past 15 years, he has participated in a number of pop-up galleries around the world, including Pop Up Wilhelminasingel (2018), Independent artist, Nevada (2015), The Art is here, East London (2014) and others.
