Prior to forwarding the ordered goods, the Trader has the right to contact the User on the phone number indicated by the latter, in order to specify details of the order and/or delivery.

The Trader will not be responsible for non-fulfillment of an order if the User has provided incorrect, incomplete and/or inaccurate personal data, including an incomplete, inaccurate or fictitious address or telephone.

1. Why is this important

During delivery, your artwork may pass through many different hands and climates, this is why it is important that you pack carefully to ensure your package arrives at its destination in а good condition. If you have any problems with packaging, please call +31 6 11205256 during 10 and 18 o’clock every day.

When the packaging is not good enough, there is a chance of damage. In that case the client has the right to return the artwork, and get the full refund. The artist will not receive his payment.

Artwork Packaging

Packing materials:

  • Bubble wrap
  • High quality packing tape
  • Archival Paper (Glassine)
  • Foam board
  • Cardboard corner protectors
  • Cardboard mailing tube for artworks shipped in a tube
  • Wooden crate if the artwork is bigger than 120x120cm

2. When to start packaging

Start packing your artwork as soon as you get notified that you’ve sold a work. If you plan to pack your work too close to your delivery time, unforeseen events may throw you off schedule and you may miss your courier pick up time.

Important! Always make certain that your painting is completely dry before packaging it for shipment.

Paintings smaller than 120х120 см

What will you need:

  • Archival Paper (Glassine)
  • Plastic sheet – do not use garbage bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Foam board
  • Cardboard corner protectors
  • Paper tape
  • Cardboard box
  • If the painting is in frame with glass, Apply two pieces of painters tape diagonally across the glass/acrylic pane to form a large “X”. Should the glass break during shipment, the tape will help keep the broken pieces together and proceed with the packaging.

Step 1. Wrap the painting in glassine paper or acid-free archival tissue paper.

Step 2. Place cardboard corner protectors on the corners of the wrapped artwork.

Step 3. To protect against moisture, you can wrap the glassine-covered artwork with plastic sheeting/poly wrap or put it inside a heavy plastic bag. If it’s traveling a short distance, this step is not needed.

Step 4. Tape the wrapped painting to a sheet of foam board (or two-ply cardboard) the same size or slightly larger than the painting.

Step 5. Wrap the entire work with at least 2-3 layers of bubble wrap.

Step 6. Place the wrapped artwork between two pieces of foam board (or two-ply cardboard), forming a “sandwich.”

Step 7. If the painting is larger size, to protect the frame and the glass, or when you ship outside the country, you need to place it in a cardboard box. If you don’t have any, you need to make it yourself. Fill the empty space with enough bubble wrap.

Step 8. Place the shipping label to the package and put clear tape over the label so it doesn’t get removed during shipment. Using a heavy black felt tip pen, write “FRAGILE” in large capital letters on the package.
